BOAT are back from their west coast tour. Their show in Portland last weekend made staying up on a Sunday night totally worth it. BOAT also had a reportedly a fantastic show in Santa Barbara. In Santa Barbara there is a radio station that goes by KCSB. Hoshwa hosts a fantastic radio show there and brings the noise of a lot of indie pop bands. BOAT were invited to record an in studio. I haven't heard any other in studios at KCSB but BOAT's in studio was like the perfect storm. It is so good it almost sounds scripted. Hoshwa's deadpan delivery, the unnecessary swearing, trying to get Josh's phone call on the air it is all really hilarious and probably go down as one of the best on air riff sessions.

i'm psyched to see boat coming a little bit south next month... my girlfriend lives about an hour from blacksburg and will try to hit up that show... shame that (i assume) there won't be time to do a nlfn in-studio, since their drive is super-duper long that day...
